When you purchase an Extraordinary Gift, you make a lasting difference for patients, their families, and the staff at Health Sciences Centre. Your generous support allows HSC Foundation to further innovative research, secure exceptional technology, and enhance compassionate patient care at HSC.

The Health Sciences Centre Foundation Extraordinary Giving catalogue is a new and meaningful way to give gifts that matter to those who matter most.

We accept Visa and Mastercard. If you prefer to pay by cash or cheque, please call us at (204) 787-2022 or toll free 1 800 679 8493. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

3. I can’t afford to purchase a whole piece of equipment, but would still like to buy a gift. What would you suggest?

We realize that medical equipment is very expensive, which is why we offered the opportunity to purchase a share of the equipment by making a contribution towards the total cost. If you wish, you may purchase multiple shares, or get together with friends or family to cover the total cost of one or more items.

4. Does my money really go toward the purchase of equipment?

Gifts made through this catalogue represent a gift to Health Sciences Centre Foundation. HSC’s urgent priorities are always changing. To support the best patient care, we use your gifts where they can do the most good by pooling them with the gifts of others to meet HSC’s most urgent priorities.

5. Can I have the tax receipt issued in the name of the person I am sending the gift to?

All gifts purchased from this catalogue will receive an income tax receipt. In accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), we can only issue the receipt in the name of the individual or organization making the donation or gift.

7. Who receives the gifts I purchase?

The mission of the Health Sciences Centre Foundation is to promote health care excellence by funding medical research and clinical projects to the benefit of the diverse communities served by the Health Sciences Centre.

Your gifts will ensure that the Health Science Centre’s world-class investigators have the resources they need; that a caring and committed hospital staff have the tools and support they need; and that patients receive the finest care and hope in the face of adversity.

8. How do I tell people I’ve given a gift in their name?

We do the work for you! We’ve created a special gift card that will be personalized with the recipient’s name, your name, plus the item you’ve donated in their honour.

9. What choices do I have for getting Gift Cards to the people I want them for?

You have two choices, both of which are available during the checkout process:

1. You can send an e-card instantly.
2. You can have our gift card sent directly to the mailing address of your choice.

10. What happens if my card does not arrive?

We aim to have all gift cards out within 5 business days of your order being placed, but you should allow longer due to high volumes of mail during the holiday season. If it has been longer than 7 business days, please call us at  (204) 787-2022 or Toll-free1-800-679-8493 and we will send a replacement card right away.

11. Will I get a tax receipt for my gift?

You will receive a Canadian charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes on donations of $10 or more.

12.  Does the Health Sciences Centre Foundation trade, sell or rent donor information?

The Health Sciences Centre Foundation does not trade, sell or rent donor information. We will not disclose your name, address, phone number or e-mail address to other organizations for list exchange purposes or to businesses.
